In the expense rules you can create a rule on the amount per day/week/month/year. It is possible to configure a rule warning to notify the user of the maximum amount they can spend and they already spent and/or when a user is exceeding the maximum amount per day/week/month/year .

Rule warning: maximum amount user can spend and amount already spent

To configure the rule warning you see in the image above as an admin:

1. Navigate to Admin settings > Expense rules > Add expense rule

2. Set up the expense rule as illustrated:

  • Choose who will be affected by this rule

  • Set condition: Amount is more than 0 per day/week/month/year, whichever applies

  • Set condition: Choose applicable category

  • Choose 'rule warning' as action and write a warning message. Include {{totalAmount}} in the warning message and the total amount already spent will show for the user.
