As an Admin, you can set up Value Added Tax rates in Rydoo. These tax rates can be linked to specific categories and/or countries.
There are two ways to create or update VAT rates:
- Create or update tax rates manually
- Import or update tax rates in bulk
This article explains how to import or update tax rates in bulk.
1. Go to Admin settings.
2. Go to Tax rates page.
3. Click Export.
4. Fill in or update the info in the file and save on your computer.
| Name | Fill in the tax rate name. This will be visible for users when creating expenses (unless you disabled this as an Admin). |
| Tax code (optional) | Code linked to the tax rate |
| Rate | Total value of the tax rate |
| Branch | The name of the branch it belongs to. A tax rate is associated to a single branch and not an account. |
| Status | Set the tax rate to be active or inactive by default. True = active False = inactive |
| Country | A 3 letter ISO code. Example: FRA (For more information, check the column Aplha 3 in this article) |
| External Id | Any ID you want to associate to that tax rate (in case you need to map these rates with your accounting systems) |
| Subrate name 1 (optional) | Name of the first subrate |
| Subrate 1 (optional) | Value of the first subrate |
| Subrate 1 code (optional) | Optional code linked to the first subrate |
| Subrate name 2 (optional) | Name of the second subrate |
| Subrate 2 (optional) | Value of the second subrate |
| Subrate 2 code (optional) | Optional code linked to the second sub-rate |
| Categories | Categories should already exist on your Rydoo account, and each category should be separated by a semicolon. Example: Gifts; Meals; Insurance |
| Id | The Rydoo tax rate ID. It’s not mandatory for the import. When a new tax rate is created via import, it will automatically have an ID linked to it |
NOTE: Please do not make any format changes to the file. Do not delete or add columns or change the font for example. If you do not need certain columns, please leave them blank. Keep in mind some columns in the XLSX file are required.
5. Import the file with tax rates.
